Guess who's back!

The perv is back!

Is he here to steal a story?  Interested in the old Texas Swimming Blog's page views?  Going to post another comment?

Looks like they didn't fire his sorry butt.  What kind of business would keep a guy on the payroll that made sick comments via a company computer?  They're either clueless or scraping the bottom of the barrel for employees.  Both?

No idear what's goin' on?  Catch up here.

Confusion at Temple (and much, much more!)

Nope, not Temple, Texas - them folks knows what's goin' on!

The problem's at Temple University.  Read more here and here.

They're dropping seven (7) teams...so they can better support their Olympic sports.

Problem is, three of the programs they're dumping - men's track, men's gymnastics, and women's rowing - are Olympic sports.

You want the truth?  YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Oh, you can?  Sorry about that.  Okay, here it is:

They're having money troubles in their athletic department and in order to continue fielding a red ink-bleeding D-I foosball program (2-10, 1-7), a few cuts are in order.  Can't afford to lose any of those 105 destined-to-play-on-Sunday's fellers, right?

To remain NCAA D-I, they need to keep six (6) men's sports.  That's why they're dumping the other five (5) men's programs.  Title IX lawyers have been pushing proportionality for years.  Since they're kicking so many men to the curb, they can do the same to a few of the women as well.  They'll take advantage of the opportunity and dump expensive, large-roster sports like rowing (60 women) and softball (23).

Worried about the Owls men's and women's swimming programs?  Relax!  They dumped swimming back in 1986.  Read about the Temple University Olympic Sports Purge, Part I here.
