Quote of the Day

People with honorary awards are looked upon
with disfavor. Would you let an honorary
mechanic fix your brand-new Mercedes?

Or would you want your child coached in HS by a "Level 5 coach" who got the "Level 5" only because that was the school the stud club kids attended, even if... -illegally-? (Think Bowie)

Or a Region/State/National HS "Coach of the Year" who inherited his/her swimmers likewise?

"Yep, Ah've got 472 All Americas on the team since Ah got here. Well, ah, yeeessssss, some of 'em -do- swim club, BUT THEY GOT THEIR HS ALL AMERICA CERTIFICATES ON OUR HS WALL OF FAME."

The proof of the pudding is in seeing how many All Americas (since we're talking about All Americas recently) a HS team has who are NOT club swimmers. There aren't many, but THOSE HS coaches are getting the job done.

If the UIL did not hamstring the HS coaches with the ridiculous 8-hour rule, there would be more.

Speaking of HS, how many coaches have contacted the NFHS like you suggested, to protest the spineless lack of action about the tech suits in HS? Just curious.
