Powder Term

Is your middle-schooler under pressure to be "connected" day and night?  Isn't it time to get them to put away that phone and get outside?

This is straight from the Powder Term Phone-Free Philosophy:

Between old-school classrooms, new-school screen addictions, and the constant pressure of social media, teens today have little opportunity to stretch their limits. They need more space to explore who they really are, what they really care about, and what they’re really capable of.

That's why outside of self-driven academic courses, Powder Term students are completely unplugged. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live free from the burden of infinite scrolling.

Sounds pretty good, right?

Registration deadline for the January 9-February 12 term has passed.

Quadrennium to Quinquennium to Triennium

We had to wait an extra year for our Olympic "bump" - and it's finally here!  Thank you Team USA!!!

Plenty of club jobs have been posted since early July.  A few high school jobs have been listed since then, too.  Not interested in coaching?  There are some aquatic director positions as well.

It'll only be three years until the Paris.  Chlorine and sunshine seem to make our sport one of the best to be involved in during the pandemic.

Folks, if you haven't jumped on the competitive swimmin' bandwagon yet, what the heck are you waitin' fer?

Take a look at these jobs, figure out which one(s) might be a great fit, and go for it!

Denny Pursley

We visited with Dennis Pursley and enjoyed every minute of it!  Have a listen on Anchor or via the YouTube embed below.

Want a neat & simple "how to" that will help you with your club or school program?  Pick up a copy of Pursley's Pep Talks at the ISHOF Swim Shop here

It's got things we've been discussing with our kids over the years.  Or, in my case, may have been forgetting to discuss with our kids in recent years!

I love my copy and am definitely going to use it, not only to help keep our athletes on track, but to also make sure I'm staying on message.

TEAM Available at Amazon

Last summer we spoke with John Vogel about his book, TEAM, and promised to let y'all know when it would be available.

Co-written with Melissa Mathews Shimp, TEAM is available on Amazon (electronic or paperback) here
