While I don't condone his conduct, I am a
teammate and fan. Unlike many fair-
weather people, I am sticking by him.
If my wife and I can help him in any way,
we will. I believe he will grow from this and
be a better person, role model and teammate.

Is there some reason this guy's stock keeps rising? Besides being intelligent and all the thesaurus terms that go along with that? Besides saying all the right things, not because it is expedient and PC to do so, but because it is the RIGHT THING TO DO?
Lezak, you definitely rock, you are DA MAN, and our sport is so much the better because of what you do and what you stand for.
(Since when did a guy 2 decades younger than me qualify as a hero to me? Since I first discovered him, I guess.)
Phelps may have been tagged as Superman by the media, but Jason Lezak is CAPTAIN AMERICA.
We are fortunate indeed.
