Did you miss it?

Men's NCAA-DI meet in Indy was epic!

Arizona State went from fighting for existence (dropped by then-AD Lisa Love*) to 2024 NCAA champs.

American & NCAA records were smashed.

It was Eddie Reese's last season as Longhorn head coach.  He guided his squad to a 7th place finish.

TISCA Rep Vote

Your vote counts...or does it?

Here's a message from our TISCA leadership, sent last week:

Lastly, the TISCA convention is around the corner and we will be selecting new Region Reps for Swimming, Diving and Water Polo at the convention. SO it is very important that you attend.

Recall that, to accommodate water polo, TISCA traded our fall swim/dive/polo coaches' clinic for a spring convention.

The fall clinic was when we knew:
  • which of our member coaches had left the profession,
  • which schools our TISCA coaches were representing, &
  • what regions our schools had been placed in by the UIL.
Using this spring convention to choose region reps for the 2024-25 school year means:
  • members in good standing who are not attending will have no say in representation,
  • some individuals attending & voting may not even be coaching next year,
  • coaches could be voting from different schools than those they'll work in the fall, &
  • coaches new to schools will have had no say in who their region reps will be.
One solution would be to restore the fall clinic and scrap the spring convention for the 2024-25 year.

We all know that's highly unlikely!  Therefore, we need to explore another way to choose reps.

Once coaches have registered for the fall, a Google Form should be used for rep voting.

Using this method in September means:
  • coaches will have had time to register w/TISCA for the new season,
  • the UIL alignment will have been out for months, &
  • coaches will be representing the school they'll be working for in 2024-25.

Using the spring convention to vote for 2024-25 region reps is a BAD IDEA!!!
