Got Divers?

If you plan to video your diver(s) at state meet, you'll need to fax your request to the UIL.

Info and form are here.

$200 per session fee will be waived if you agree not to shoot video with relay take-offs in background...

    What Deer Slayer said!

    From ewe-eye-HELL website at 3PM:

"Qualifiers will be posted as soon as they are available."

Really? REALLY? The frickin' meet was over SATURDAY. Ron Raper could have had the callups posted by 9pm SATURDAY.

    Really, UIL? REALLY?

Ummmm... Maybe an additional assistant director is needed. Or two. Or five.

Hate to say it but we do need a conversation about this year's state meet and the RTOP equipment. Hopefully everyone knows the new rule - 2 of 3 for a DQ or a non DQ. Equipment can help or hurt the swimmer. Definitely better than last year but not 100%. Ultimately the equipment can still fail. The most likely scenario would be for the pad to fail (happens all the time during meets right?). If perchance one official thinks he/she sees something and the equipment has failed - then too bad for the swimmers. My point: have a written protest ready. If your relay is DQd, ask to see the hytek printout but also the timing console printout. If there are any "warnings" or "+ signs" where the timing console operator added a touch, if there are any "odd" splits like a 20 second 50 free for a girl followed by a 40 second 50 for the same girl - obviously there are pad errors. When that happens, I would file the WRITTEN protest immediately and ask for the meet committee to review the equipment - they can't review the rule but they can ensure the equipment is not malfunctioning (make sure you know who they are at the start of the meet!!!). The protest, according to the UIL MUST be filed before the meet is certified. This means - approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the session. Goodluck to everyone! Here's hoping the equipment doesn't decide the fate of more kids this year!!!

Ron would not have had the results posted by 9pm on Saturday because one region had not posted their results :). Just trying to stir up more comments for you Button :)!

Ron COULD have had them up by 9pm IF that slowpoke region had been on the ball. It would take maybe 30 minutes once he had all the meet files. Max.

930pm and STILL not posted. Sheesh.

9:20 - UIL takes down the comment "call ups will be posted when available" and changes it to "4A call ups and 5A call ups" BUT has no link to any data - just teasing the kids/parents/coaches I suppose. Not that we haven't already figured it out but it would be nice to see it officially.
