Quote of the Day

The correction of silence is what kills; when
you know you have transgressed, and your
friend says nothing, and avoids your eye.

I have stumbled across your blog while searching for info re: JV swim meets in Tx, and now I'm wondering if maybe you can help me:-) My son has been swimming since age 7 competively and will be in 7th grade in a small 1A district in East Texas. We have been told that he can swim in meets even though we are a 1A school, although he'll be swimming with 5A schools and despite the fact that our school doesn't have a "swim team." Do you know if there are meets where you can swim as a 7th grader? We were told that this could happen at the JV meets, but I'm having a hard time locating JV meets. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

  2. waskom? when did they get internet?

    hahaha! just a joke!!!!

seriously, you're in a pretty good spot for middle school options. both tyler and texarkana have middle school programs. you might contact them to see if your son can squeeze into a meet or two with them.

once in high school, he'll be able to swim in the 4a division. school will have to make sure uil knows he intends to compete in h.s. so they can assign y'all a district/region.

    tyler: matt franks (swimjot@gmail.com)

    texarkana: carl auel (auelc@txkisd.net)

not sure what, if anything, places like longview, lufkin, and nacogdoches have to offer at that level. high school swimming - yes. middle school swimming - not sure.

anyone out there with more info? if so, please help us out here.

    thanks,
