The big news out of Colorado Springs is that Don King is out of USA Swimming.
A piece on Oregon Live by Wendy Owen lays it all out there. This article and the comments that follow paint a disturbing picture. Read it here.
I started to include parts of the story and a few of the comments, but changed my mind.
Y'all need to take a few minutes and read it all.
End King's reign of raping little girls you mean. 14 years-old? My God!!! And she begged him to stop. Who is ever going to protect the children? He's a child rapist and he walks free.
ReplyDeleteoriginal title was going to be "USA Swimming Ends King's Reign of Terror", but I figured that went without saying...
ReplyDeletegood he's out of usa swimming, but not good he could find another avenue to work with kids.
Members of USSA swimming should also know that the panel that heard the victim of Don King was composed of 1. All men, 2. None with expertise about sexual abuse issues. 3. One of the panelists was extremely inappropriate by using his opening statements to congratate Don King on his recent birthday. This was not supposed to be a venue for one coach to be chummy with another coach. This same panelist as badgered the victim with inappropriate questions about he sexual relationship with her husband.
ReplyDeleteAll swimmers, coaches, parents of USSA should demand that an organization as large and as important to the safety of our children provide a professional panel of sexaul abuse specialists to hear an extremely serious case of sexual abuse by a coach.
Don King is working with young girls again offering lessons in his back yard. pedophiles cannot stay away from children unless they are behind bars. The parents who are enabling this should go to jail for child abuse/ neglect.
ReplyDeleteHey Button:
ReplyDeleteUSA Swimming is currently being sued over the Andrew King situation. I will send more detailed information directly to your email. This is going to blow the lid off sex abuse in swimming.
