Utah Utes Turmoil
(pic via Twitter)
The timing couldn't be worse for Utes swimmers. The women's Pac-12 conference meet began yesterday and the men will kick off their championship meet next week. At the same time, head coach Greg Winslow is facing possible charges after a police report was filed alleging a relationship with a Sun Devil club swimmer seven years ago. Read more here and here.
From the Daily Utah Chronicle:
“The Athletics Department first found out of the allegations late last night, so this morning we suspended our coach pending further investigation,” Utah athletic director Chris Hill said. “We’d like to wait until the end of the investigation. He’s not going to be around the team, so I would say it’s an indefinite suspension but that time length could change as we learn more information.”
Just coincidental that the paper's "Latest Poll" asks:
"Do you think the firing squad is an unconstitutional means of capital punishment?"
