WISCA

It's not all that fancy, but the WISCA site is easy to navigate. It's loaded with info on Wisconsin high school swimming & diving.

Did you know that Garrett Weber-Gale holds their D-I state record in the 100 back? :49.73 in 2002.

Neil Walker has the D-II state record in the 200 I.M. with a 1:50.80 (1994).

Sharkathon 2009

This weekend, Leon & pals are going to Padre Island for the annual shark fishing tournament called Sharkathon.

In addition to prizes for the top three (3) sharks caught in the tournament, there's a $10,000 prize for catching one 10 feet or longer.

Maybe that money can be used to pay the surgeon to re-attach hands and feet...

Tennessee Volunteers

You know, that other orange UT.

The history is there. The coaching is there. Now that they've got a new facility in Knoxville, look out for the Vols. It's sure to help J.T. and Matt with recruiting.

Catching Up

Be patient, my two dozen readers.

I've been busier'n a one-legged man in a butt-kickin' contest!

Now that my short break is over and I'm about to get caught up (hahaha), I should be able to get back to posting regularly.

High school buddy and his son came to Texas this weekend. We spent a couple of days/nights on the beach with Leon and caught a few sharks.

The first of the bunch was this 6-footer:

New Trier

When you think high school swimming in Illinois, New Trier has got to be one of the first schools that comes to mind.

Visit their girls' site here. Six pages of All Americans, including several national champions, are here.

The boys' site is here.

Check out the list of Mark Onstott's guys and gals who survived the yearly vitamin (100 x 100's) here. Plenty of Bobcats on the list (from his days at Cypress-Fairbanks).

In the last workout of 2003, New Trier's Eric Bordwell made them on the 1:06!
